Why We Use Different Instruments During Your Treatment
Written by Dr. Arsalan Baig
Many patients are surprised to learn that we use several different instruments during procedures such as DBL™, CelluTight™, SkinTight™, and regenerative aesthetic treatments. Each one has a specific purpose designed to maximize safety, precision, and comfort.
Entry Point Needles

We typically use a fine medical needle to create a small entry point in the skin. This allows us to access the treatment area with minimal trauma to the surrounding tissue. We start by infiltrating some local anesthetic into the skin, then form our entry point.
- (A) Needle used for infiltration of local anesthetic into the skin
- (B) Entry point needle
- (C) Cannula for filler application
Blunt-Tip Cannulas
Once the entry point has been created, we often use a blunt-tip cannula rather than a sharp needle to place filler or regenerative products.

Clinical Note: Note the difference between the sharp tip on (B) for the creation of the entry point relative to the rounded tip on (C), which is atraumatic and allows for safe infiltration of filler in deeper tissues.
Benefits of a blunt-tip cannula include:
- Reduced risk of injury to blood vessels (significantly lowering the risk of vascular complications)
- Less bruising and swelling for a smoother post-procedure phase
- Greater comfort during the treatment process
- Smooth and even product placement for natural-looking results
Unlike traditional needles, a cannula gently navigates through the tissue layers rather than cutting through them.
Why Instrument Choice Matters
Every instrument used during your treatment has been carefully selected for a specific purpose. By combining different techniques and specialized tools, we can achieve safer procedures, better clinical outcomes, and a much more comfortable experience for our patients.
Au Le Dr Ducu Cliniques, patient safety and treatment precision remain at the heart of everything we do.
